For use with oils, fuels, lubricants, air, steam, refrigerants, and many other fluids. Its strong point is applications involving hydrogen or other light gases, for which very low leakage rates and safe and reliable protection against the risk of emissions that could even lead to explosions can be achieved. Applications in shipbuilding, refrigeration or heating systems, the automotive industry, or in the production of pumps and compressors.
This combination results in a greater sealing capacity (albeit slightly, leak rate of 0.009 vs 0.01 mg/s*m).
The mechanical strength is also higher (6 MPa).
More importantly, the improved characteristics are maintained over time and at high temperatures.
This is evident by looking at the maximum operating conditions, but also at the stress resistance values, which represent the ability to maintain the initial clamping load: after 16h at 175°C, the Soft maintains 30 of the initial 50 MPa (compared to 15 for the HF), while at 300°C the value for the HF cannot even be determined because the material does not withstand these temperatures.
